Museum School Native Plant Garden
We work in the garden space on Flex Fridays.
We think these are all the people that have helped so far:
Dave from CA Frost helped kick start the work in September and his student gave us plants.
Mr. Lawton and CAD students make diagrams of our spaces.
Nicole Johnson is writing a book about Michigan Plants. She came as a guest speaker and we went outside to see other neighborhood gardens.
Jessica Vander Ark helped us get permission from GRPS facilities.
Mira's mom gave us plants from her yard!
We dug up the sod, dog poop and trash and initial native species.
The City of GR Yard Waste gave us free compost!
We visited Calvin College and toured their garden and green house. They gave us more plants!
Marty from Wild Ones came to our school to help us identify plants and space them well.
Kate is working on her senior project and wrote a Groundswell Grant! She wants to build a "Little Free Library" for the space and buy a pet waste disposal station.
